Stephen Webber is an Emmy-winning composer, musician, author, speaker, producer, engineer, and a leading innovator in music and the performing arts. He founded the Music Production, Technology, and Innovation master's program at Berklee's campus in Valencia, Spain. 

In New York City, he raised over $30 million and spearheaded the effort to create the public-private-nonprofit partnership to save the iconic Power Station studios and create Berklee NYC. He also serves as Berklee’s dean of strategic initiatives, working collaboratively on domestic and international projects, including in Los Angeles and China.

A former A&R consultant for Universal Music Group, Webber has produced and engineered albums for a wide range of artists. He collaborated with DJ Premier and Nas on the Re:Generation Music Project, a film in which Webber appeared alongside Erykah Badu, Skrillex, Mos Def, Pretty Lights, and the Doors.

Close to 50,000 students have enrolled in Webber's MOOC (massive open online course), The Art of Music Production, and his Berklee Online course Music Production Analysis was recognized by UPCEA as the best online course of 2010. 

Webber composed and played turntables on "Stylus Symphony," a groundbreaking work combining a full orchestra with hip-hop, trip-hop, and dubstep; authored Turntable Technique: The Art of the DJ(Opens in a new window), the first book to teach the turntable as a musical instrument; and founded Berklee's first DJ and turntable classes, attracting national attention and a visit from the Today Show's Al Roker.

As a musician and clinician, Webber has toured Australia, Europe, China, India, the Middle East, and the Americas. He has appeared on CNN, NBC, NPR, and CBS, and been featured in the New York Times, USA Today, and Rolling Stone. 

Webber's innovative teaching has helped to launch the careers of numerous artists, with some of his former students going on to earn multi platinum records as well as Grammy Awards in categories spanning pop, rock, hip-hop, jazz, country, bluegrass, folk, K-pop, classical, and Latin.

A multi-instrumentalist who often plays guitars, keyboards, banjo, mandolin, and turntables on his productions, Webber has recorded with Mark O’Connor, Kathy Mattea, and Meshell Ndegeocello, and performed with Béla Fleck, Grand Mixer DXT, and Emmylou Harris. He has designed several recording studios, conducted film scores at Lucasfilm’s Skywalker Ranch, and authored dozens of articles for Mix, Remix, and Electronic Musician.
